Senior Architect

Cutler Architecture Ltd. is seeking experienced Senior Architects or Architectural Technologists with advanced technical skills to join our team and help lead our Architectural division.

Qualifications

• 15+ years experience in Canada
• Registration with the AIBC or eligible to be registered
• Education in Architecture

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects at Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration phases
• Manage preparation of Development and Building Permit drawings and documents, submittals and liaise with Authorities Having Jurisdiction
• Perform Building Code and Zoning Bylaw reviews.
• Coordinate consultants and perform coordination reviews of all disciplines involved in the project.
• Manage the preparation of Tender and Construction Drawings, Specifications and Documents.
• Manage the projects at Tender and Construction Contract Administration phases.
• Support training of architects, interns and designers.
• Perform Quality Assurance and peer reviews.
• Support developments of templates and standards.

Requirements

• Advanced experience in technical aspects of architectural projects on both New Construction and Tenant Improvement
• Experience in preparation of specifications.
• Proficient in Revit.
• Thorough understanding of BC building code, Vancouver Building Bylaw and Municipal Zoning Bylaws.
• Strong understanding of building systems for various building types and construction systems.
• In-depth knowledge of Building Envelope and experience in design and development of complex building envelope details
• Extensive experience in the Construction Contract Administration phase and performing Field Reviews
• Extensive experience in understanding and coordinating of the engineering drawings.
• Able to work under pressure on multiple projects and manage competing deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
