Plant Manager

Randstad is excited to support one of our amazing clients, in their search for a seasoned PLANT MANAGER, who will largely operate out of the GTA.

This is a global client, in the packaging industry, and is in need of an individual who is fully versed in all operational aspects, including : Production / manufacturing, Health and Safety, S&OP development, KPI Tracking, Team Building and Engagement, Budget Management, Logistics and Supply Chain, etc.

Responsibilities

Actively participates in safety and quality management programs at the site.

Engages in Lean Manufacturing practices, including Six Sigma, FMEA, and 8D Problem Analysis.

Prepares and reviews production, safety, and quality reports.

Develops action plans with team members to address any issues.

Establishes and implements improvements for cost reduction and quality assurance.

Directs and assists with developmental or experimental activities.

Works with employees to gather input for problem resolution related to production issues and efficiencies, utilizing problem-solving tools and skills as needed.

Reviews Key Performance Indicators (Daily, Weekly, and Monthly) to ensure the facility is on track to meet overall departmental objectives.

Meets with Planning and Operations team members to discuss production schedules and necessary changes.

Ensures coverage for vacancies due to vacations or absences related to fulfilling production schedule requirements.

Interfaces with customers and suppliers as necessary.

Implements proactive and corrective maintenance practices for all production equipment.

Ensures effective preventative maintenance programs are in place and adhered to.

Ensures employees receive proper training in safety, quality, and production aspects.

Makes decisions regarding work processes, operational plans, and schedules to achieve operational objectives.

Performs other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree in engineering or operations management.

Experience : 7 10 years in operations, maintenance, engineering, and process improvement, including team management.

Skills : Lean environment experience, Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt), and strong mechanical equipment understanding.
