Summer Student Labourer, Field
Location : Fort McMurray, AB
Reporting to : Foreman, Field Services
Shift : 5x2; Monday to Friday; 6 : 00am- 2 : 30pm
Responsibilities
- Track and manage inventory on consumables and usage.
- Arrange and organize materials for jobs.
- Maintain checklists for shop tasks.
- Experience in production and manufacturing environment.
- Show some skill with hand tools and assembly and / or fabrication skills.
- Duties may include moving machinery, tools and products to correct shop locations.
- Duties in the manufacturing process for general labor tasks.
- Deburring parts / prep for paint work.
- Assist Journeymen welders, mechanics and machinists. Follow directions from peers and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school diploma
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Qualified candidates will have strong work ethic and mechanical ability
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Welding / grinding skills an asset.
- Previous related experience an asset.
- Valid Driver’s License and own transportation are required.
- OSSA, CSTS, Class C First Aid.
- Must have a strong safety focus.
- Progression to trades positions is possible with experience
