You are a hands-on, dynamic leader with the ability to energize and inspire the team to take-action and achieve common goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Profit and Loss Management : Take ownership of the financial performance of the business, driving business and revenue growth, managing costs, and optimizing profitability while ensuring adherence to budgetary targets.
Employee Growth and Engagement : Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee development, providing mentorship, training, and support to cultivate a high-performing team.
Promote employee engagement initiatives to enhance morale and retention.
Union Relations : Collaborate effectively with union representatives to maintain positive labour relations, negotiate contracts, and address any labour-related issues in a constructive and fair manner.
Business Development : Develop and implement strategic plans to expand Irving Equipment's market presence, identify new business opportunities, and cultivate strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
Health and Safety : Prioritize the health and safety of all employees by enforcing compliance with industry regulations, implementing robust safety protocols, and fostering a safety-first culture throughout the organization.
What qualifications are we seeking?
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with a professional designation. An MBA is considered a strong asset.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience leading an operation, preferably in a comparable role.
- Commercial experience with large industrial customers.
- Demonstrated experience improving processes to drive practical business outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of managing financial requirements, deadlines, and priorities.
- Building and fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external.
- Demonstrated ability to spot exceptional talent and nurture the growth of the next generation of leaders for the company.
- Financial acumen with a track record of driving profitability and managing budgets effectively.
- Experience working with labour unions and navigating collective bargaining agreements is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must prioritize a culture of health, safety, quality, and operational excellence.
