Your role within the team :

• The selected candidate will be key to support the strategy and execution of the successful development of a project.
• Oversee and lead Project Controls execution.
• Participate in developing, enhancing adhering to project controls processes and procedures are in place.
• Develop and lead Project Controls execution for the project.
• Ensure partners are apprised through reporting and status updates.
• Responsible for smooth operation and and management of project controls teams.
• Identify and resolve issues, key variances and develop corrective action planning.
• Report to a Project Controls Director.
• Create functional team and Lead a team of Planners and Cost controllers and conduct performance evaluations.
• Stakeholder interface with respect to scope.

The ideal candidate :

• Possess post-secondary education i.e. diploma or degree B.A., B.Sc, B.Eng, B.Com, PMP, AACE, or possess equivalent relevant industry experience in senior roles within project controls and or project management. Nuclear experience.
• 15+ years of relevant Project cost and Schedule control experience, 5-10 years of which leading teams in complex engineering and construction projects environment.
• Proficient in MS office suite of software, especially in Microsoft Excel.
• Preferably thorough knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Demonstrate problem solving abilities, including the ability to learn new software as per the company standards.
• Expert knowledge of PMBOK / PMI project management techniques including hands on experience applying on large projects.

i.e. critical path method planning, progress measurement and earned value techniques, analyzing data, and complex project reporting.

• Strong knowledge of the general project controls policies and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details are required.
• Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
• Strong communication, report writing and presentation skills.
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills with a results-oriented approach.
• Ability to work well with Clients and Alliance partners.
• Ability to develop, build and maintain good working relationships leading a Project Controls team.
• Ability to communicate effectively to senior management.
• Ability to mentor junior and intermediate staff and work with senior project cost controller.
