Duties : Receives material / equipment shipped to Powertech and checks shipment against packing slips; routes invoices and goods received to designated departments, processes claims for damaged or lost goods.
Selects local, national, and international cartage suppliers and prepares materials, equipment and sample containers for shipment by crating, packing and wrapping, initiating shipping documents, notifying consignee of shipment details and maintaining related records and files.
Operates and maintains mobile cranes, forklift, pallet mover and other material handling equipment and provides training to employees on the use and care of this equipment.
Moves and arranges office furniture, equipment and sample containers; sets up seating arrangements in meeting rooms. Oversees the security of receiving entrance by signing visitors / trades people in and out and assisting them in finding the correct internal location.
Provides general building and yard maintenance including cleaning up work benches and lab work areas. Updates and maintains inventory records of waste storage shed;
keeps waste storage shed organized. Performs a variety of other duties such as ordering and storing compressed gases, making arrangements for laundering and maintenance of shop coats, assigning general storage spaces for material / equipment and assigning used and surplus material for disposal by bid.
May perform duties of a minor nature related to the above duties which do not affect the rating of the job. Qualifications : Grade 12 completion or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Formal training in Handling Dangerous Goods, WHIMIS, and Forklift Operations. Must have a valid class 5 driver's license with no infractions and approximately 6 months previous experience as a Shipper / Receiver, Stock keeper or Materials Handler is desirable.
Status : Full time temporary, 6 months less a day Location : Surrey, B.C. Affiliation : Group 6 Annual Salary Range : $52,653 - $57,812 Please be advised that this role has been assessed as safety sensitive and pre-qualification alcohol and drug testing will be required as a pre-condition to employment.
A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain your Driver's License (Class 5) in good standing. For Powertech Lab positions, the flexible work model options are different due to their specific operational requirements and details will be discussed at the interview stage.
