Job Summary :

In this exciting opportunity, the Manager of Digital Development will serve as a seasoned Developer and inspiring leader within our dynamic Agile environment.

You will have the chance to lead a talented development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and innovative problem-solving

What you'll be doing :

  • Lead a team of highly skilled software developers and testers on multiple agile teams. Assign and review work, provide improvement feedback, and ensure successful completion of projects / initiatives by the group
  • Coordinate and influence decision making through an active partnership with cross-functional stakeholders including Product Management, Project & Program Management, and Operations.
  • Effectively recruit, coach, develop and enable team members to achieve their full potential
  • Set clear direction and expectations, keeping staff focused on objectives, and fostering a sense of urgency and dedication to meeting goals
  • Ensure a positive work environment and awareness by all staff of company goals and objectives and create an environment oriented towards trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort.
  • Develop and lead change management initiatives and act as a positive change agent to continually improve operations and results.
  • Own, oversee, and delegate the architecture, design, development, testing, release, and support of large-scale software applications, systems, platforms, services, or technologies.
  • Define and drive the multi-year technical vision for products.
  • Drive project initiatives to deliver robust and scalable solutions, incorporating new technologies as appropriate.
  • Work with engineers, product owners, and technical project managers to add new features to roadmaps, prioritize them, and facilitate delivery on requirements and functional specifications.

What you'll have :

  • A university degree in computer science (or equivalent) and 5+ years of development experience
  • 3+ years of experience in managing agile teams
  • Demonstrated ability to provide advanced leadership in projects and technical operation including : resolving a wide variety of issues involving software / application errors, business requirement clarification, and complex issues spanning multiple interconnected areas of software, infrastructure, systems, platform, and vendors.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem solving, planning, time management, organizational, and change management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with staff and clients and to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The ability to provide technical leadership and prioritize tasks, while working on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines in a team environment.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Hands-on experience in enterprise Java software development, frameworks and software architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with client-side development of web applications, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with agile testing practices and tools with a focus on automation.
  • Experience working with a wide range of technologies (including database management systems, version control systems, continuous integration systems) and web standards.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of IT application support, design, development, and operational processes are required.
  • Strong experience in monitoring / reporting tools (Zenoss, Nagios, Splunk)
  • Significant experience in using SQL (MS SQL, MySQL, etc.) is required.
  • Significant experience with Linux / Unix / Windows Operating Systems
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., shell, Perl, PHP, Java) are required.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT management best practices, ITIL Foundation certification is required.
  • Experience with SFTP, SSL protocols, networks, and firewalls, ability to perform connectivity troubleshooting
  • Experience with CI / CD methodologies and implementations (Jenkins / Kubernetes)

Nice to have :

  • Financial services industry experience, while not mandatory, will be considered a very strong asset.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS / Azure) an asset

Salary : $115,000

The salary represents the job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education / training.
