Role : In the role of Logistics Coordinator, your main objective will be to ensure that product is shipped as required and all freight claims, variances, damages, debits, shortages, etc.

are identified, investigated, and documented. Continuously monitor and follow all company policies and procedures while working with managers and supervisors to actively seek continuous improvements within all departments.

  • Work with Production, Accounting, Logistics, and Inventory teams to ensure all claims and variances are identified, documented, and investigated.
  • Review and report on errors, variances, damages, shortages, etc. to determine what could have been done to prevent them.
  • Review and track OS&Ds from carriers on spreadsheet and determine if charge back to carrier or not.
  • Get PODs from carriers as required.
  • Prepare debit notes to be sent to vendor, carriers, and outside storage facilities (receiving shortages, damages, overages, etc.

and gather required information for managers to sign off.

  • Work with AR to resolve outstanding customer credits.
  • Review AR reports and identify if internal or external costs for charge-back to carriers.
  • Review customer non-compliance fines and work with shippers on corrective action and / or investigate / file claims with carriers as needed.
  • Review customer complaints and identify products, best before dates, and other data to help determine causes.
  • review errors to inter-company and outside storage facilities daily gathering necessary information so managers can review with shippers and receivers.
  • Collaborate with I / C on tracking inventories and reviewing discrepancies.
  • Identify issues with orders between Syspro, CFS and Footprint, and Monitor and report on Klondike order rejections be the main point of contact between Sunrise Farms and Klondike and other storage facilities.
  • Plastic tracking (trays, lugs and lids, totes and lids, baskets, etc.) for BC, AB and MB.
  • Review freight invoices to ensure correct rates are used for trucking and outside storage facilities.

Additional Functions :

  • Review GPS on trucks / trailers and work with Shipping Manager to ensure all trucks / trailers are identified / located daily.
  • Review current Chep Pallet Procedures and make / implement recommendations for improvements (ongoing)
  • Review Weekly Chep Invoices and reports to verify accuracy, identify patterns / outages, and report findings to Supervisors.
  • Coordinate Monthly / Quarterly / Annual Chep cycle counts BC, Alberta, and Manitoba.
  • Multi-site responsibilities and liaising with team members.
  • Cross train on other functions within the department to allow for flexibility and better understanding of all processes and Holiday coverage.
  • Review late orders.
  • Vacation / absence relief as required.
  • Other duties as required / assigned.

Requirements :

  • Previous experience in Logistics, Freight, or Inventory Control is an asset, or relevant education.
  • Strong emphasis on computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel).
  • Syspro experience is an asset.
  • Weekend accessibility (cell phone provided / compensated as required)
  • Strong mathematical and organization skills.
  • Ability to use and learn Warehouse Management System.
  • Must be dependable and hold an above average attendance record.
  • Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective Communication Skills

Please note that the expected new hire salary range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sunrise Farms. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
