Transportation Engineer

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

Design and Project management

• Deliver transportation engineering projects including preliminary and detailed design and construction phase services including contract administration
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams (potentially including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, planners, environmental scientists, technical support staff,
• Assist with the preparation of estimates, bid tenders and project proposals
• Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request

Learning & Development

• Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
• Contribute to the career development of junior and intermediate staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
• Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or transportation engineering
• Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Manitoba or eligible to be qualified within six months
• Eight(8) to ten(10) years' related work experience, preferably in the consulting industry

Experience

• Proficient in the geometric design of highways, municipal roads, intersections and active transportation facilities.
• Proven experience in preliminary and detailed design of municipal and provincial transportation facilities
• Demonstrated abilities in the leadership of multidisciplinary projects and teams
• Exceptional abilities in project management and an in-depth understanding of industry programs and practices associated with consulting engineering and planning
• Proven skills in public and agency consultation
• Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination
• Strong communication, report writing, organization and interpersonal skills
• Experience with City of Winnipeg roadway infrastructure projects considered an asset
