Senior Accountant

Homes by Avi Group of Companies is seeking an organized and highly detail oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant .

Senior Accountant

You will work directly under the leadership of a Controller to support the Controller and the accounting team servicing our investment, multifamily, property management and Texas divisions

• You are able to analyze trial balances, dig into variances and details to ensure that financial reporting is both accurate and timely

• You are an individual who is self-motivated, focused, and works well independently while developing strong working relationships with the accounting team & divisions.
• You are an articulate communicator in both your written and verbal correspondence, equally professional and detailed.
• You have a proven ability to take projects from conception to final product with little supervision

What You Will Do :

• Prepare and post required journal entries
• Ensure all journal entries and accruals are posted and accurate
• Updating working papers to ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and entries are correctly posted in accordance with ASPE
• Perform budget to actual variance analysis of overhead accounts
• Ensure all records and backup are complete and correctly maintained
• Complete project margin analysis
• Complete sales and closing margin calculation and analysis
• Preparation of internal and external financial statements and reporting packages
• Preparation of overhead reporting for Managers
• Preparation of bank reporting, draw and loan reports as required
• Other Adhoc reporting and analysis as required
• Assist in developing and testing report automation
• Assist in providing supporting audit documentation and be a primary contact for inquiries for the external audit

Your Qualifications - The Must Have's :

• CPA Designation
• A post-secondary education in accounting is required.
• 3-5 years of proven accounting experience.
• Intermediate level Excel and Microsoft office products.

Experience with Great Plains Dynamics, BI360 and Yardi
