Portfolio Manager - Private Clients
Job Description :
- Play a role in the business development of the firm's Private Client and Foundation products.
- Take on long term clients as part of the ongoing succession planning in the practice.
- Provide client service consistent with the highest service standards in the industry.
- Communicate effectively with a wide variety of clients.
- Work with the Research, Trading, Compliance and Operations area to ensure ongoing knowledge of all our products, services and systems.
- Contribute to the advancement of other business objectives of the firm.
- Develop suitable investment policy statements by determining acceptable risk levels for clients based on their time frames, risk preferences, return expectations, and market conditions.
- Maintain new and existing client relationships, including informing clients of market conditions, updating them on investment research and economic trends, and meeting with them to discuss their portfolio performance and investment objectives.
- Evaluate the performance of investment portfolios and ensure compliance with standards provided by regulatory organizations.
Maintain current client information on the system to ensure client history is accurate and complete.
- Develop an effective external network to support the identification of new and increased client development opportunities.
- Enhance the firm’s brand and reputation by engaging with the professional service community.
Job Qualifications :
- 5-10 years of experience within the investment industry
- Prior experience with Private Clients and Foundations
- In-depth knowledge of the Canadian marketplace
- A thorough understanding of financial markets
- The highest degree of ethics and integrity
- Demonstrated client relationship skills
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred
- Licensable as a Portfolio Manager under the BC Securities Commission
