Job Description
The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects you will have the ability to shape and be a part of.

CIMA+ is currently engaged in several major infrastructure projects in the transit sector, that involve the application of various communication technologies such as LTE, Wi-Fi, LMR, IIoT and IoT.
We are seeking a talented Project Engineer - Systems Engineering to join our dynamic team in our Vancouver office*.
As part of a close-knit multi-disciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in the development of unique, "one of a kind" projects that shape the world we live in.
Our ideal candidate has a firm grasp of Systems Engineering concepts, and wants to be involved in the engineering of operationally critical, high reliability systems, in the IT / OT convergence space.

Primary responsibilities
- Applying sound systems engineering principals and best practise to support overall project delivery.
- Contribute to the development of architecture design.
- Develop and put in place new and efficient / best practise project delivery processes.
- Develop technical specifications, tender packages and V&VT and system integration plans.
- Support systems integration planning and testing activities to meet business and operational requirements.
- Provide bill of materials (BOM) and specification for Contractors, and then oversee their work, ensuring it is delivered to the spec you have written.
- Understand and follow the client's documentation as well as regulatory codes and standards.
- Provide technical data and timely support to internal and external customers when required.
- Monitoring technical performance of the design and ensuring all milestones are met.
- Interface with other technical disciplines such as Power Supply & Distribution, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, Trackwork, Civil and others;
including coordination and design of Systems interfaces, both physical and functional.
- Meet deadlines as determined in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Perform engineering tasks according to corporate safety policies, standards, and procedures.
- Duties may be modified from time to time, however it shall be consistent with the position.
Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering, or similar subject (preferably Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Physics / Systems Engineering).
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience in consulting, systems engineering and / or complex integration with significant experience in IIoT projects.
- Well developed technical writing and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) or eligibility is required.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following :
- Sound judgment, effective organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and work with multi-discipline technical teams, deal with complex issues and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrable strength in a minimum of two of the following (and working knowledge of the remainder) :
- Full lifecycle engineering QA and / or Systems Engineer processes
- Solution architecting / design
- Requirements management
- Integration and interface management
- Stakeholder management
- Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) analysis
- Functional Safety
- IEC 15288 : 2015
- Able to identify, analyze and mitigate interface and interoperability risks from both a safety and program management perspective
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Confident and positive attitude
The expected salary for this position is from $90 000 to $115 000 and is based on the richness and diversity of the candidate's experience, training, skills and internal equity.
The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
