Reporting into the Director IT, the Sr Project Manager role will serve as an integral member of the Wyse IT team. The main function of the role is to ensure that both Business and IT Projects are delivered on-time, on-budget and on-scope at Wyse.
This person is capable of leveraging structured project management techniques to effectively manage small to large-scale projects across multiple departments and disciplines.
This individual is able to ensure a high level of resolution of problem situations, and successful completion of deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages both Business and IT Projects.
- Manages and oversees all aspects of a project to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget.
- Has overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing, vendors, and contractual deliverables with guidance from the IT Director.
- Develops detailed project plans. Monitors project milestones and issues. Generates timely status reports to share with stakeholders and management.
- Evaluates and manages risk. Incorporates quality measures and standards to project deliverables. Create detailed project work plans from estimated scope of work and assign project plan tasks to team members.
- Works with business owners to translate business needs into operational plans.
- Provide leadership to project team members who will consist of in-house vs. outsourced resources.
- Leads the team by example, paying detailed attention to overall project quality and timelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Work is generally independent but also collaborative in nature. Contributes in solution discussions for moderately complex aspects of a project.
- Requires 4-7 years of related experience. Certification in Project Management is an asset not mandatory .
- Excellence in communication, written and verbal, to upper management and front-line team alike.
- Strong experience in Project Management related applications : Gantt Charts, Flow Chart applications, Word Processors, Spreadsheets & Slide Presentations.
- Experience using Atlassian suite of applications (specifically Jira and Confluence) preferred.
- Ability to learn and understand new technologies with limited previous experience.
- Self-starter and highly self-motivated
