Production Planner
Job Title : Production Planner
Location : Laval, Quebec, Canada
Duration : 6 months (with potential for extension)
Position Overview :
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling production activities to meet customer demands while optimizing resources and minimizing costs.
Working closely with various departments including production, logistics, and procurement, you will develop production plans, monitor inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of products.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing lead times.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components for production.
- Monitor inventory levels and production capacity to identify potential bottlenecks or shortages and proactively implement solutions.
- Utilize ERP systems and planning tools to track production progress, analyze performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on production status, address concerns, and escalate issues as needed.
- Continuously improve planning processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in ERP systems ( SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.
