Looking for a full-time Generator Service Technician to join our team here in BC!

We currently have an opening for an experienced Generator Service Technician - preferred Red Seal (mechanically and or industrial electrical) and experience in Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).

Our company is expanding and we are looking for someone who could walk in with a great understanding of the role. You will have a weekly schedule created and a work tablet for use throughout your day and your parts will be picked prior to your shift.

We have bi-weekly meetings about the jobs you are being booked for which is open to ask questions and offer changed schedules or assignments etc.

Our company covers rental, installation, sales and service of new and used diesel, gas, natural gas and propane-powered industrial generators.

Shift Time : 7 : 30AM-4 : 00PM

Wage offered : $40-50 depending on level of expertise

Class 5 License required to operate company vehicle

Generator background a must! Red Seal preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Repair, troubleshooting, start-up and maintenance of mobile and power plant electrical generators
  • PMs on associated equipment including engine controllers, voltage regulators, control wiring, engine monitoring devices, alternators, load banks and safety systems.
  • Provide technical support required for accurate quoting, scheduling and follow-ups.
  • Complete and accurate documentation, representative of the work completed - including job work orders, service reports, deficiencies, clock events, and warranty claims per established systems.
  • Provides on-call services as part of the field service team rotation - overtime and Saturday availability will be required!
  • Comply with all required Health & Safety and environmental protocols including safe transport and disposal of hazardous materials (fluids, batteries, etc.)
  • Actively contribute to the continuous learning’ culture of the company. You have a voice and get to make a difference!

Qualifications

  • Experienced with different makes / models / manufacturers of power generation equipment and associated components including fuel systems, cooling, heating, driveline, exhaust, transfer switches.
  • Assets include ASTTBC certification or willingness to demonstrate your ability to become certified as a Registered Fire Protection Technician with ASTTBC.
  • Hold a provincial qualification in at least one of the following fields : diesel engine, heavy-duty, mechanic, or electrician.
  • Knowledgeable of current CSA282 requirements.
  • Excellent at problem-solving / trouble-shooting
  • Develop and maintain professional, productive customer relationships and provide prompt and efficient support for customer needs.
  • Located in the Surrey, BC area, + Class 5 license
