Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Fraud and Quality Control, the Senior Quality Control Analyst is responsible for : Conducting comprehensive quality assurance reviews as the first line of defense for the Operations Department.
Responsibilities
Conduct Quality Assurance reviews of the Operations Department.
- Ensure Underwriting and Loss Mitigation practices and procedures are being executed in alignment with current Risk appetite.
- Review & monitor adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Proactively manage timeliness of QC reviews, follow-up activities and final reporting to meet established individual productivity measures and support department SLA's and KPI's.
- Identify and escalate any material Underwriting knowledge gaps or adverse trends to Operations Leadership Team with recommendations for resolution.
- Work collaboratively with Operations Leadership Team to support ongoing employee education and training.
- Work collaboratively with Fraud Prevention Team to support proactive fraud identification.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of Sagen's processes, policies, and products.
- Act as subject matter expert for Operations policies, procedures, and processes.
- Drive internal QC process efficiencies and proactively identify opportunities for enhancements.
- Perform other duties and assist with special projects to support Operations Leadership initiatives, as required.
Skills and Qualification
- Minimum 5-10 years of mortgage underwriting and / or audit experience in the financial industry;
- University degree in Business, Economics, or Commerce;
- Strong technical knowledge of mortgage underwriting processes and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to grasp mortgage industry and business -wide strategies.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building and customer centric skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated strength in working independently - ability to make decisions, manage deliverables and resolve issues while seeking guidance on more complex situations.
- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment, perform well in a high volume, high intensity environmentproven and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
- Must be a self-starter, results oriented with a strong customer focused attitude
- Organized with the ability to deliver excellent customer service and quality reviews despite tight timelines.
- Analytical thinker with ability to challenge the status quo and drive change.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and customer service.
- Bilingual in French would be an asset / preferred.
