Financial Analyst

About the Opportunity

• Assist with monthly financial accounting, including journal entries, month end analysis, to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial results from business units within the portfolio
• Assist with the consolidation and review of forecasts, quarterly disclosures, and monthly reporting packages including variance analysis
• Full cycle accounting from order to cash and procure to pay
• Track and report key business indicators on a monthly basis
• Assist with the preparation of interim and year-end working papers for accounting and tax audits
• Prepare account reconciliations and file US sales tax on monthly basis
• Prepare accounting memos, and liaison with internal audit for compliance
• Quarterly reporting on variances to forecast vs. actuals
• Assist with consolidating quarterly rolling forecast and variance analysis on the forecast results
• Pull and prepare ad hoc financial analysis as required by management such as profitability analysis on Professional Services revenues, and sales funnel reporting
• Ad-hoc financial operations tasks such as communication with insurance providers, banking representatives, and cheques mailing
• Support the local team to gather financial data

About You

• Hold a Business / Finance degree (i.e. BBA, Comm. etc.) and near completion of an accounting designation (CPA)
• Minimum of 3 years experience working in a Finance / Accounting role
• Advanced skills and experience in MS Office Excel
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills with ability to adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and ad hoc issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience with Great Plains accounting software an asset
• Capable of working as part of a team and independently
• Excellent time management

Salary Range : $75,000 - $80,000 / year
