Drafting and Design Technician

Your talent will be put to work to help us carry out our projects and impress our clients ! Since we work with 99 . 9 % stainless steel , we need your experience to optimize our designs in order to reduce our manufacturing costs .

Our team of experienced draftsmen / designers will be able to supervise you and support you in the performance of your duties .

With our working schedule you will be off on Friday afternoon s :

• Monday to Thursday : 7 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m.
• Friday 7 : 00 a.m. to 1 : 00 p.m.

Your main responsibility will be to design our products and make the appropriate shop drawings .

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to conceptualize , design and develop sheet metal assemblies ;
• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using software such as Solid Works , AutoCAD or similar tools ;
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards , customer specifications , and manufacturing requirements ;
• Perform design analyses to optimize designs in terms of cost , manufacturability and performance ;
• Generate bills of materials and purchase requisitions for procurement ;
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to provide support during manufacturing and installation processes ;
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback ;
• Participate in continuous improvement in the department .

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS)

Requirements and working conditions

• Bachelor ' s degree or technical degree in mechanical engineering , industrial design or a related field .
• At least 3 years of experience as a draftsman / sheet metal designer or in a similar role in sheet metal product manufacturing .
• Proficient in CAD / CAD software such as Solid Works , AutoCAD , or similar tools .
• Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques , materials and manufacturing processes .
• Excellent problem - solving skills .
• Ability to work effectively in a fast - paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously .
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross - functional teams and clients .
• Knowledge of refrigeration (asset)
• Experience in CNC machine programming ( asset )
• Knowledge of metric and imperial measurement systems;
• Good learning ability;
• Demonstrate diligence and punctuality;
• Available to work overtime.
