Job Summary
The City of Mississauga is looking for a passionate, energetic and talented .Net and database developer to join our Infor Public Sector (IPS) team.
Reporting to the GIS & IPS Project Manager, you will be working with a project team, with supporting IT team members and interacting with business units to support the Infor Public Sector Application and its associated services and applications for Asset Management.
This will include building & updating online services, REST service integrations, database procedures and in-application workflows.
This position will be required to work in a hybrid work arrangement (some work from home and some work in the office). Our offices are located at Mississauga City Hall, 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Successful Candidate will :
- Review requests from clients for enhancements to software applications and provide feedback on feasibility, effort and duration.
- Build interfaces between applications that need to share information.
- Participate in upgrade testing to support mandatory infrastructure changes such as server replacements and database upgrades.
- Troubleshoot initial go-live issues, and solicit user feedback after a suitable amount of time has passed.
- Create and maintain business process workflows in Infor Public Sector using the built-in IDE.
- Provide support for existing software applications
- Monitor and respond to Help Desk tickets for Infor Public Sector related issues and application problems.
- Respond to questions from, and troubleshoot technical issues reported by, individual clients by phone or email.
- Work with Infor Technical Specialists, Infor Project Leader to get a better understanding of the requirements or issues from the clients.
- Contact vendor and collaborate to identify and fix issues when it's needed.
- Design and implement clean, simple, testable and scalable applications including user interfaces and data modelling based on project requirements or work requests.
- Document plans for testing and deployment.
- Test applications prior to releasing any fix, enhancement, upgrade or new application
- Test applications throughout the deployment process.
- Ensure each component functions correctly and has no negative impacts on other components.
- Provide instructions to engage clients in testing.
- Assist with the review and conversion of existing Oracle 19c packages to SQL Server, Vb.net workflows or REST based solutions.
Skills and Qualifications
- A post secondary degree / diploma in Computer science, engineering or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience with :
- NET Framework, Net core
- Server-side development using C#, Vb.Net, ASP.NET MVC
- Consume and write to RESTful APIs
- Front-end development using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Responsive Design
- SQL Server / Oracle Database : Script, T-SQL, PL / SQL, procedures, functions, designing and optimizing complex query
- Knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, AD experience, use LDAP to query the AD information and integrate to other system
- Fluency with source control, branching strategies and release management (Git)
- Fundamental knowledge of programming and architecture of distributed system
- Understanding of design / architectural patterns
- Experience in working with vendor built application based RESTFul web services and APIs
- Experience with Infor Public Sector is an asset
- Experience with Asset Management processes and software is an asset
- Knowledge of distributed system development and cloud native development is an asset
- Experience with Azure Devops is an asset
- Ability to see the bigger picture and differing perspectives; to compromise, to unlearn, to balance competing priorities, and to prioritise the client need
- A Level 2- Criminal or Judicial Matters Check (previously Regular CRS) will be required of the successful candidate, as a condition of employment, at their own expense, to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted.
Hourly Rate / Salary : $ 45.87 - $ 61.16
