Plant Manager

Newton Industries, a leader in the plastic injection moulding industry, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant Operation Manager to oversee and manage our manufacturing operations.
This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our plant, including machinery maintenance, tooling, and custom project development.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee Manufacturing Plant : Ensure efficient operation of the plant, managing all day-to-day activities, including production scheduling, quality control, and personnel management.
- Process Troubleshooting & Assessment : Identify and resolve issues related to the production process to ensure optimal performance.
- Machinery & Tooling Maintenance : Supervise regular maintenance of machinery and tooling, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Tool Repair & Outsourcing : Coordinate in-house tool repairs and manage external repairs to ensure production timelines are met.
- Future Machinery Planning : Assess current machinery and tooling needs, planning for future upgrades and replacements as necessary.
- Customer Project Development : Collaborate with new and existing customers to develop projects, ensuring alignment with their specifications and timelines.
- Design Collaboration : Work closely with design houses to ensure the mouldability of products during development.
- Project Costing : Collaborate with the accounting department to accurately quote custom projects.
- Tooling Sourcing : Source tooling options both locally and abroad, ensuring the best value and quality for the company and its clients.
- Tool Testing & Product Evaluation : Oversee testing of tools and evaluate finished products to ensure they meet company and client standards.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience in plant management, ideally in a plastic injection moulding environment.
- Strong technical understanding of machinery maintenance, tooling, and injection moulding processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with customer project management and working collaboratively across departments (design, accounting, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
