- Assist manager in the implementation of safety programs
- Evaluate safety programs
- Examine plans, drawings and site layouts
- Plan safety programs
- Provide information / training to employers, employees and general public
- Inspect to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained
- Inspect existing buildings for structural defects and fire hazards
