EXPERIENCE IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY ESSENTIAL

EXPERIENCE IN MANAGING EXPAT TEAMS IS ESSENTIAL

  • Degree with Safety or associated with Industrial Safety.
  • Separate Safety Qualification.
  • Professional training and Certification for Labour Safety Specialists and Managers.
  • Current Certification in First Aid.
  • Training regarding PPE.
  • Certification in Fire Safety Measures (advanced training).
  • Certification in the area of Industrial Safety Measures.
  • Certification in the area of Electrical Safety Measures.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the role of Health & Safety Management with a strong background in large construction projects and management of large teams.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining or other heavy industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role, particularly managing Expat Teams.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Identify and manage Health & Safety risks.
  • Ensure the implementation of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
  • Assess and analyse production risks.
  • Organise and conduct inspections and investigations in the area of Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Conduct safety briefings and meetings.
  • Coach Supervisors in techniques, which continually promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across site.
  • Control and ensure labour protection, industrial safety, environmental protection and fire safety.
  • Control and ensure civil defence and protection in emergency situations.
  • Issue Work Permits.
  • Develop, manage and implement a programme of audits and support, and assist in conducting risk assessments.
  • Ensure the control and elimination of all registered HSE non-conformances.
  • Carry out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and making recommendations for any corrective actions required.
  • Prepare internal and external H&S Reports.
  • Interact with Government agencies.
  • Ensure the safety of employees in the performance of their duties and create safe working conditions at each workplace.
  • Organise training of employees in safe job methods and techniques.
