Are you ready to take the next big step in your culinary career? Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is looking for a Chef de Cuisine who shares our passion for exceeding guests’ expectations and is willing to learn from and contribute to our Food and Beverage Team! The Chef de Cuisine will oversee two F&B outlets, Café Boulud and d bar, in partnership with Chef Daniel Boulud and DINEX.

Job Requirements

The Chef de Cuisine will plan, organize, control, and direct the work of employees in the Kitchen Department and will be responsible for outlet food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency.

Competencies include strong knowledge on French cuisine, great leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a large team in a busy operation.

The Chef de Cuisine will provide leadership and management for the culinary department by establishing efficient systems and processes to ensure standards as set forth by Four Seasons and DINEX are adhered to.

  • This individual will : be responsible to plan, organize, control, and direct the work of employees in the Culinary Department and for outlet food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency;
  • lead in the planning and development of recipes and ensure the correct preparation and presentation is consistent; maintain control systems which will assure quality and portion consistency;

monitor food shipments to meet purchasing specifications; and foster an awareness of the importance of food preparation and quality.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills :

  • Excellent knowledge of and passion for local, organic, sustainable ingredients
  • 5+ years of experience in a kitchen management role in a fast-paced and luxury environment.
  • Experience working in a Michelin recognized restaurant is an asset
  • Skill at identifying and cultivating talent and passion within the team
  • Strong communication skills in English, additional languages are an asset
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Food Handler’s Certification
