POSITION SUMMARY
As the Financial Analyst, you will support the North American Bus and Coach business unit to ensure accurate financial reporting.
You will be responsible for ensuring that deadlines for the submission of month-end, quarter-end and year-end results are met and that results are prepared in accordance with NFI Group policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU WILL DO :
- Perform recurring monthly tasks and journal entries to assist the Internal Group Accounting team in financial close.
- Work closely with Accounting Transactions Team Supervisor and Group Accounting Manager to ensure deadlines are met.
- Support and interact with various functional groups within Finance and Operations.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and account analysis.
- Maintain general ledger accounts with a high degree of accuracy.
- Assist in process standardization and system implementation projects.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL :
- Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or a combination of related education and experience.
- Current enrolment or completion of a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA).
- 3+ prior experience in a finance / accounting function.
- Demonstrated knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical problem solver who can work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong MS Excel skills and ability to learn new systems.
- Familiarity with Oracle is considered an asset.
Up to 5% of travel is required in this position.
