Anoverview of your future role at BBA

BBA is seeking a senior engineer inhydrology or hydraulics, a senior hydrologist or a senior hydraulics specialistfor its Montréal office.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the existingteam whose mandate is to help deliver multidisciplinary projects that includehydrology and hydraulic components.

You’ll support operational activities andplay a key role in organizing a wide range of projects, includinginfrastructure design (dams, canals, culverts and bridges).

• Coach and mentor employees under your management
• Provide required technical expertise, supervision and support for engineering projects, design, proposals and technical opinions
• Hold key decisive project delivery meetings and supervise field studies
• Provide technical input in your area of expertise for multidisciplinary work scopes
• Coordinate work with project management teams and team leaders from other disciplines to manage project deliverables while meeting deadlines and budgets
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and support the technical aspects of business development documents
• Work with other departments, environmental regulators and BBA offices on project-related work
• Supervise and lead a wide range of hydrological assessments and development projects

Overview of job requirements

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or other professional association
• At least 10 years of relevant experience
• Skills in analytical and modelling techniques and knowledge of all stages of development and operation of mining projects
• Experience and proven skills in writing proposals and work plans
• Solid experience with the following software (or equivalent) : HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS and the entire HEC series
• Available to travel to mining sites, when required
• Asset : Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written, ability to draft technical documents in both languages
• Asset : Experience in the mining or industrial sectors
• Asset : Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to water management in Québec and Canada
