Join Our Client as a Control Technician
Our client, a leading aluminum extrusion company, seeks a skilled Control Technician to join their team. As an expert, you'll leverage your technical mastery of processes and equipment to lead the planning, development, and implementation of Planned Maintenance Elements in a continuous improvement manufacturing setting.
You will collaborate with various technical and non-technical personnel, key support contractors, and operations staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Install and Troubleshoot : Install, monitor, troubleshoot, and provide solutions for automated production lines, robots, and equipment to meet technical specifications and performance standards.
- Coordinate Maintenance : Work with designated technicians to ensure timely and professional completion of tasks related to parts availability, parameter setup, repairs, and preventive maintenance, ensuring smooth production flow.
- Maintain Records : Keep detailed records of parameters, setups, saved software, programs, diagrams, and communication protocols for all logic-controlled devices and machinery.
- Collaborate Across Departments : Collaborate with other departments to set up procedures, logic sequences, data integration, and communication between equipment, accessories, and devices on automated lines and robots.
- Optimize Production : Utilize data from logic controls, robots, and monitoring devices to maintain optimal flow rates, improve work schedules, reduce overtime, and eliminate rework.
- Document Procedures : Create technical documentation for the setup, maintenance, operation, and repair of equipment and automated systems.
- Ensure Compliance : Ensure work complies with GMP, HACCP, and health and safety regulations.
- Review Production Requirements : Meet daily production requirements and adhere to schedules.
- Complete Work Orders : Follow CMMS work orders and complete and submit all required forms.
- Additional Duties : Perform other duties as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Technical Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, and automation issues promptly.
- PLC and HMI Expertise : Modify PLC and HMI programs and configure VFD and servo drives, primarily using Allen-Bradley systems.
- Preventive Maintenance : Complete all assigned preventive maintenance work orders for electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.

- Facilitating the development of professional service agreements (including negotiating terms when necessary) between OpTalent and clients.
- Actively promoting OpTalent's services through social media, participation in professional associations, trade shows, and other public relations opportunities.
- Focusing on business development in the Ontario and Canada English markets.
- Maintaining the client and candidate databases.
- Self-generating new leads, appointments, and referrals through day-to-day new business activity.
- Understanding clients' recruitment needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
- Conducting sales presentations and meetings with prospective clients.
- Negotiating terms of business and closing deals effectively.
- Achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs. Requirements and skills for this role are :
- 1-2 years of experience in business development, B2B sales.
- 1-2 years of experience in the recruitment / agency industry is a huge asset.
- A proactive and motivated approach to achieving results.
- Experience in manufacturing and skilled trade recruitment is a huge asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience with social media.
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. We offer a base salary of $70,000 to $75,000 based on experience, plus an unlimited commission package.
