Job Summary
Under direction of the Director of Innovation, Cloud, and Enablement, the Expert Cloud Solution Architecture has the mandate to align closely with enterprise strategy, to translate vision into technology architecture design, postures, roadmaps, and / or direction for use by the technical delivery teams.
The Expert Cloud Solution Architecture must drive the overall architectural design of the cloud landscape including technical stack, telecom, security initiatives and operational cost, enabling the coexistence and integration of new solutions with existing systems.
All the while ensuring operational viability and scalability of the solutions. The candidate must be able to understand business needs, build trust with business stakeholders and facilitate discussions with all I&T groups.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and build deep relationships with delivery teams
- Expected to drive technology roadmap, solutions, product specifications, and operational processes
- Link technology with measurable business value
- Mature integration practices and evolve an effective integration framework and portfolio that includes effective configuration management, fosters reuse / self-service, and allows for more responsiveness and agility to incoming demand
- Mentor, influence, and evangelize changes upon the introduction of new technology, and services.
- Responsible for managing talent and leveraging outside resources as required
- Responsible for working effectively with project managers, and the senior management team to realize business opportunities through the development of technical solutions, and clear communication of options with related trade-offs
- Actively participate and provide leadership in the direction of technology strategy.
- Participate in strategic, project, and budget planning efforts
- Manage and advance vendor relationships and solutions
- Lower cost, improve quality, and accelerate integration development through process and technology automation practices
- Stay abreast of industry trends and proactively identify areas for growth, improvement, and development of enterprise integration capabilities, both internally and externally
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent
Experience
Ten (10) plus years of experience in technology architecture and minimum three (3) years in technology domain architecture
Skills and competencies
- Advanced knowledge of architecture, application development, application systems design and integration
- Proven technology roadmap and delivery experience in emerging technologies
- Proven leadership ability to drive and facilitate transformation in a large and complex global organization, including the ability to influence decision-making and facilitate teams with multiple stakeholders at all levels in the organization
- Knowledge of change management discipline and best practices
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies including Iterative Waterfall, DevOps and Agile, as well as non-project management processes in function areas of governance including legal, compliance, etc.
- Excellent understanding of technology concepts of the future
- Advanced critical thinking and demonstrated analytical skills to support executive management decision-making
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- Bilingual (English, French)
