The Opportunity

Pomerleau is currentlyseeking a talented and motivated Design Manager to join our team. In thisrole, you will play a crucial part in managing the design development andtechnical aspects of design-build projects.

If you’re interested in joining oneof Canada’s largest construction companies and you’ve strong experience acrossvalidating construction methods, actively participating in concept development,and fostering synergies between our design and construction teams then this theperfect position for you!

What YOU Will Do

• Responsible for managing and coordinating the design development and technical aspects of a project, as part of an RFP for a design-build project or other types of partnerships;
• Ensures production of plans and specifications (deliverable) at a level of progress that meets the requirements of our clients and both our estimation and construction teams;
• Develop designs and ensure that any available cost-effective alternatives are reviewed and that the design is optimized in accordance with the RFP instructions;
• Be a key player on the proposal team and collaborate with all stakeholders on the team;
• Monitor the professional firms’ performance, especially in terms of quality, schedule and costs. Once the contract has been acquired, the design manager’s role on the project team will continue until the design has been finalized;
• Manage, develop, ensure and participate within these areas of the design management process; Planning, design development, project development, monitoring professionals’ performance, project execution.

What YOU Will Bring

• You have an educational background in Architecture, Engineering or other related field.
• You are a specialist when it comes to government projects and DND building designs projects.
• You are an expert when it comes to designing Public- Private Partnership (PPP) projects and Design Build.
• You are familiar with alternate contracts (DB, P3, or similar).
• You have a knack for working with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Virtual Design Construction (VDC) modelling.
• You have 10+ years of experience managing workflows and processes specific to government and DND architectural / engineering projects.
• In ensuring compliance with the project requirements and regulations, the successful candidate must be eligible for a Government of Canada Secret Level Security clearance.

Additional Assets Include :

• Fluent in both official languages written and oral (English and French).
• Master's degree or architectural licensure is strongly preferred.

Theexpected salary range for this opportunity is $110,000 - $150,000. Please notethat salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographicallocation.
