Distribution Center Supervisor

Position : Distribution Center Supervisor Day Shift

Location : Vaughan

Reports to : Distribution Center Manager

Overview :

Under the supervision of the Distribution Center Manager, the Distribution Center Supervisor supervises and coordinates his / her employees work on the assigned shift.

Including, but not limited to order picking, verifying and packing of stock before shipping, oversee the loading of delivery trucks and verifying the correct product is being shipped.

Responsible for managing employee-related issues and employee engagement. Responsible for building / product security, including opening and lock up when applicable.

NEXT Supply is the new generation of supplier in wholesale Plumbing and Hydronics setting superior standards in service, product availability and delivery.

NEXT has strategically located local warehouses across and beyond the GTA, each with a full quantity of inventory and strong, strategic delivery capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Managing and supervising a team of Distribution Center associates, including training, coaching, and scheduling employees.
• Coordinate and delegate all activities for same-day and next-day order preparation.
• Analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Reviewing picking errors and following through to resolve the errors by submitting recommendations.
• Developing and implementing safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as provincial and federal regulations.
• Analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Communicating with other departments and management to ensure efficient and effective operations
• Making sure the Distribution Center is maintained in a clean and orderly manner in order to comply with health and safety regulations of the company.

Skills / Requirements :

• 5 years of experience in operation management level and team supervision.
• Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, processes, and inventory management.
• Knowledge and experience with Infor suite (SXe & TWL) will be considered an asset.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership skills and ability to manage staff.
• High-level computer skills, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Business Intelligence system.
