Position Overview :
Our client in Brampton, ON seeks a Continuous Improvement & Engineering Manager to lead initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, increase operational efficiency, and ensure equipment reliability and performance.
This position will oversee the process engineering team, collaborating with maintenance, production, quality, and safety teams to drive continuous improvement and meet strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leadership & Team Management : Promote continuous improvement culture, lead and mentor process engineering team, set goals, monitor progress, and support professional development.
- Continuous Improvement : Implement Lean, Lean Six Sigma, and improvement strategies, identify areas for efficiency gains, waste reduction, and cost savings, develop and maintain SOPs, and track and analyze KPIs.
- Engineering & Process Management : Oversee optimization of manufacturing processes, collaborate with process engineers to address challenges, ensure maintenance schedules, and support new product launches.
- Project Management : Manage capital projects from concept to completion, oversee budgets, timelines, and resource allocation, coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Safety & Compliance : Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations, develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, and enforce safe work practices.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in process engineering, continuous improvement, or related role in manufacturing or packaging industry.
- Proven experience managing engineering and maintenance teams.
- Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with capital projects, process optimization, and maintenance systems in flexible packaging environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt).
- Flexible packaging industry or similar manufacturing environment experience.
- Strong project management skills and familiarity with ERP systems and CMMS.
