About the Role : Our client, a global leader in the mining industry, is looking for a Principal Advisor, Process Safety whose role will be to support the daily operations of the Minerals group’s production sites by implementing, coaching, and monitoring the health status of the Process Safety standard, including functional safety, in our operations. The incumbent will report directly to the General Manager, Technical.This position presents an excellent opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team, as the scope includes all processes from the mine to finished products, including ore pre-treatment, casting, purification, metallic powders, and critical minerals such as scandium and lithium.Responsibilities : Ensure, coordinate, and assist with the deployment of the Process Safety and functional safety standard (process, machine, and autonomous vehicle) across the scope of the Minerals group’s operations.Advise, guide, and make adjustments to ensure the best implementation of Operational Safety management in daily operations and foster a safety culture improvement.Develop standard management processes, create implementation action plans, and train site teams in Process Safety.Work in collaboration with the Minerals safety advisor and the Process Safety experts team to standardize and quickly deploy best practices.Coordinate the network of operational and functional safety practitioners across 10 sites.Report key site performance indicators related to the health status of process safety to the sites' Steering Committee.Collaborate with Minerals sites to develop and implement a functional safety standard deployment plan.Maintain connections with central Process Safety and Functional Safety teams.Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Process Safety, or a related field.No experience required, but candidates with experience / relevant experience is encouraged.Expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) standards, functional safety (e.g., IEC 61511), and related regulations.Proven ability to lead and deploy safety initiatives across multiple sites.Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills to foster a safety-focused culture.Proficiency in analyzing safety data and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs).Familiarity with machine safety and autonomous vehicle systems (preferred).Willingness to travel regularly (20–30%) and work across both field and corporate settings.Proficiency in French and EnglishYour Contribution : Commitment to your safety and the safety of your team.What's in it for you : Opportunity to join a globally renowned group at the forefront of the mining and metals industry.Innovative work environment offering numerous professional challenges.Position based in Montreal (requires regular travel, 20-30%).Exp.
