YOUR CONTRIBUTION

As the Process Engineering Manager, you will play a strategic partnership role with the Process Director in overseeing people management and collaborate in hands-on tasks such as budget allocation, resource optimization, work scheduling, and fostering team development to enhance efficiency.

Your pivotal role ensures the seamless functioning of our process enineering department, enabling our engineers to dedicate their focus to their technical endeavours.

You will navigate strategic and operational challenges, driving our collective success through efficient people management.

Your role and responsibilities will be the following :

  • Facilitate resource loading to optimize team utilization and project staffing requirements.
  • Contribute in our hiring processes.
  • Develop and maintain global work schedules for the process engineering team, ensuring efficient use of time and strict adherence to project deadlines.
  • Partner with Director for managing team performance and development, overseeing OKRs, and implementing performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to process engineering team leaders and their employees, focusing on effective time management strategies and fostering professional development to bolster productivity and individual growth.
  • Partner with the Director in the financial management of the team, including approving purchases in line with company rules, overseeing employee expenses, monitoring utilization and billing rates, estimating project costs with an innovative approach to cost reduction (e.

g., involvement and leadership in value engineering reviews), and proactive management of the operational budget to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Maintain standard operating procedures, ensuring documentation is current and accessible.
  • Create reports and presentations related to process engineering projects and department performance metrics.
  • Oversee delivery of trainings for colleagues, covering process engineering, safety, plant operations, and technical aspects for skill enhancement.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enable the process engineering team to focus on operational excellence.
  • Lead an initiative to evaluate and implement, if deemed acceptable, AI (Artificial Intelligence) tool to speed up process engineering repetitive task and / or task that have clear set of rules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Leadership experience within a technical or engineering environment.
  • Experience in process engineering.
  • Proficient in using different common software and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Prior experience in the gasification sector is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of process engineering and project management principles.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is essential.
