Event Logistics Assistant (8 positions) for provincial government agency client, North York.
Marberg Job Number : 2467.
Job Type : Temporary.
Initial Term : February 17 2025 to March 28 2025, with possible extension.
Target Compensation : $23 per hour to $25 per hour, according to experience. Bilingual premium available for candidates with French-English fluency.
Regular Work Hours : FULL TIME WORK HOURS – 7.25 work hours per day, not including .75 hour lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday-Friday (36.25 work hours per week). Additional paid hours may be required according to client business need, including evenings and weekends.
Central Office Work Location : 100% onsite at client’s North York office, accessible by bus and free parking provided.
Ergonomic Requirements : in addition to desk work, the position will require extended standing, occasional bending, crouching, overhead lifting, traversing internal and external distances, and other ergonomic activities associated with travelling and preparing an event or meeting space, including occasional lifting up to approximately 30 lbs.
Travel Requirements : Extensive travel within Ontario, both same day and overnight, is required for the duration of the contract. All overnight travel and accommodation arrangements to be arranged by client. Approved mileage and travel expenses to be reimbursed according to client travel policy directive.
Position Reports to : Manager, Business Processes and Training
Responsibilities Summary :
To provide onsite support to a large scale, province wide events, overseeing site specific logistics including booking, shipping, technical support and catering.
- Act as on-site point of contact at individual event sites at designated Ontario locations, including managing accommodation logistics (i.e. parking, catering, room bookings), accepting and coordinating shipments, and ensuring equipment collateral is tracked and maintained.
- Provide in person technical support, ensuring that physical environment and technical set up leads to a smooth rollout.
- Conduct repeated technical testing on a variety of different platforms, and in different physical locations.
- Manage attendee lists and communicate with various local stakeholders to ensure event's success.
- Provide general on-site events support, including welcoming staff and attendees, professionally managing any issues or concerns that may arise, and coordinating event set-up and take-down.
Qualifications :
Education : Highschool diploma required. Post Secondary Education in event planning, IT Technical support, or related discipline an asset.
Preferred Work Experience : 2+ years of work experience in events planning, logistics, or IT technical support. Previous customer service experience from a retail or hospitality a strong asset.
