This is an opportunity to be a part of Zavida Coffee Company's legacy—40 years strong and still brewing excitement.POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resource Manager to oversee and manage the HR functions for our two facilities in Toronto and Montreal. This is a 16-month contract position, ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is skilled in managing a wide range of HR responsibilities. The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESAct as a coach for supervisors and managers on complex employee-related matters, including performance issues, investigations, health and safety, and disciplinary actions.Lead complex investigations, including allegations of harassment, performance issues, or health and safety incidents. Ensure compliance with documentation and closure requirements.Ensure the fair and equitable application of Employment Standards policies and practices.Maintain and recommend changes or clarifications to existing HR policies. Develop new policies and procedures as needed, including updates to performance management and job descriptions.Support the business with employee relations matters, facilitating promotions, transfers, investigations, and other employee changes.Maintain appropriate records, including employee files, WSIB, training records, and HR data.Manage the full end-to-end recruitment cycle from intake meetings to screening, interviewing applicants, and conducting new hire orientations.Manage the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring smooth transitions from preboarding through offboarding - including facilitating the new hire onboarding, and offboarding processes.Manage payroll processes, ensuring compliance and timely processing. Handle reporting such as T4 / RL-1 forms and Records of Employment.Administer benefits programs, including managing disability claims, communicating with insurance providers, and supporting early or modified returns to work.Assist in the administration of the Performance Management program, including annual reviews.Perform administrative functions, including generating reports, maintaining employee files, and processing changes in the HRIS (HiBOB).Respond to internal and external HR-related questions for both facilities.Track employee Health & Safety training and ensure qualifications are maintained on file.Act as a management representative on the Joint Health & Safety Committee.Assist in organising and supporting internal events.QUALIFICATIONSDegree in Human Resources Management, or equivalent 5+ years of experience, ideally within manufacturing.2+ years leadership experience.Strong understanding of provincial (Ontario & Quebec) health and safety, employment, and human rights legislation.Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies.Maintains strict confidentiality of all information obtained, written or verbal.Team player with strong prioritization, time management, and organization skills.Bilingualism is an asset.Previous experience with HiBOB and / or Payworks is an asset.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and cultures.
