Our client, a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) company, is seeking a highly skilled Design Project Manager to join their team in Burnaby, BC.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Direct, monitor, and report on all aspects of the design team’s operations.
  • Ensure all company standards and codes are implemented and client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Provide workload forecasting and progress analysis for new and prospective projects.
  • Recommend work distribution based on staff availability and team workload requirements.
  • Prepare and develop Schematic Design and Design Development reports and drawings.
  • Assign tasks to junior staff and ensure satisfactory completion through review.
  • Represent the company at meetings with project clients and other stakeholders.
  • Assure adequate field review services to ensure adherence to contract documents.
  • Implement programs to improve the quality of services and systems to meet client requirements.
  • Train staff in all phases of the design process for continuity during absences.
  • Manage small to medium projects with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and administer procedures and systems for team management.
  • Stay updated on new developments in relevant codes and innovative design.
  • Participate in seminars, professional associations, and relevant trade shows / events.
  • Participate in hiring, promotion recommendations, and performance monitoring.

Ideal Candidate Requirements :

  • 5+ years of design experience in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection.
  • 2+ years of project management experience in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or eligible for registration.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Projects.
