Purpose
This role is critical to ensures that Bank's resources are used effectively by actively supporting day-to-day operations through data governance, analysis, creation of project reporting and automation initiatives when needed
The Manager will be a key team member who will enable the overall success of the EPMO mandate to achieve its goals throughout data governance, monitoring the health of the portfolio performance, create insights and educate the Divisional Project Management Communities in Data / KPI / Reporting matters if needed.
Accountabilities
- Support the Director EPMO to generate project insights to leadership team and Portfolio Management Community by providing operational excellence through advanced reporting as subject matter expert, engaging in regular discussions improving quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the project reporting company wide.
- Work with cross functional teams - both business lines and support areas - to develop / design effective and efficient processes and workflows for project financial and non-financial tracking through reporting
- Recommend process improvements for existing project reporting production.
- Manage and propose enhancements to current metrics.
- Contribute to build a high-performance environment while fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
- Assist in ad-hoc requests as required
Data Governance (25%)
- Act as Data Steward to drive the EPMO data quality across its reporting ecosystem by profiling data and giving visibility of data gaps based on DPMO teams / partners data input into CA-PPM tool.
- Support the EPMO team ensuring data integrity within the department's project management databases.
- Maintain, enhance, and create (when needed) EPMO data quality practices in line with the Enterprise Data Office guidelines.
- Provide data coaching / guidance to DPMOs when needed.
- Work with CAPPM team to address requirements and / or new features / functionalities into the CA-PPM tool.
Reporting and Analytics (60%)
- Gather / extract system data to produce consolidated project reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, to be delivered on a timely and accurate basis.
- Design, maintain and operate portfolio KPIs to govern the bank's investment portfolio while providing insights / solutions to executives when required.
- Challenge the overall health of investment portfolio through KPI and insights
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize the data pipeline and reporting distribution.
- Develop Power BI reports to maintain visibility of Pre-cycle results with drill through functions to demonstrate detailed calculations and the populations of assessments.
- Assist in the monthly SIP reporting deck and dashboard consumed at executive level.
Automation / others (15%)
- Develop fully automated data flows to be used on reports and graphs for SIP Committee reporting
- Perform ad-hoc automated initiatives for internal team activities (VBA+, Python or other tools).
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business or S.T.E.M.
- Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and results orientation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal for interacting with offices with varying cross cultural and language differences
- Flexibility and adaptable to rapidly changing environment
- 5+ years of experience working with Excel VBA development
- 2+ years of experience working with Power BI (DAX) and Python Data Analytics libraries
- 2+ years of Banking experience
- Understanding of data management disciplines such as data quality / data profiling.
- Basic knowledge of CA-PPM tool (preferable)
- Project management Certification and / or CA, CPA, CMA an asset
