This position supports the leadership of the CGC site to uphold the operational integrity of the site and the professionalism of the employees within the site.

The role also communicates with all site department heads and management at head office and helps the leadership team produce operational reports.

This position manages and oversees all operations of the site, including gaming, food and beverage, and entertainment. It is expected that the successful incumbent will develop their leadership and management skills in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages and maintains operations throughout the facility including the gaming floor and food and beverage outlets. Oversees cash flow and security for the facility.
  • Leads and inspires professionalism within the operation through education and example. Maintains strong levels of communication between departments and provides support to staff to maintain a high and consistent level of performance and customer service.
  • Educates and trains managers and supervisors on new initiatives and new procedures and ensures they communicate the same to applicable staff.
  • Provides leadership in all emergency situations and ensures that staff members are aware of their individual responsibilities in an emergency.
  • Provides input on employee promotions and is involved in the selection of employees for promotion, ensures probations are tracked.
  • Maintains good knowledge of labour relations laws and regulations and the impact to the site.
  • Acts as a mentor to staff, provides feedback, and assists them with work related problems or concerns. Monitors staff morale and recognizes employee achievements.
  • Communicates with all department heads and with management at head office and provides operational and other requested reports.
  • Acts as a resource regarding all policies and procedures as set by Gateway Casinos and BCLC and ensures that they are upheld.
  • Takes on additional responsibilities as required.

What You Bring

  • 3 years of hospitality, casino or food and beverage experience
  • Casino or other gaming experience is preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role preferably with casino gaming experience
  • Post-secondary education in business, commerce, hospitality or related field preferred and / or equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Food and beverage management background considered an asset
  • Proven ability to lead operational change, acquisitions, and due diligence tasks
  • Proven leadership skills able to direct , supervise and motivate staff
  • Working knowledge of operational budgets and Capex, and financial reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including ability to write external submissions
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Self motivated, detail oriented, reliable, efficient and able to multi-task
  • Working knowledge with word processing software, spreadsheets, email, Internet navigation, and presentation software
  • Ability to work reasonable overtime as business needs require
  • Ability to lead operations in a union environment (at applicable locations only)
  • Knowledge in slot and table games analyses
  • Must be able and willing to consider other casino sites within or outside of the province
