Project
The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.
Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.
Position
The Millwright is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team, reporting directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. This is a hands-on role involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of rotating equipment on industrial sites, all work is performed in accordance with applicable codes and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will:
- Prior to start-up of the plant, support the development of maintenance procedures
- Participate in plant walkdowns covering rotating equipment scope
- During Commissioning of the plant: verify installation and witness dynamic runs of rotating equipment
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Troubleshooting rotating assets, compressors, pumps, fans, and hydraulic systems
- Assist pipefitters with blinding and pipe strain
- Repair valves, pumps, fans & compressors
- Perform Major overhauls of Centrifugal Compressors
- Replace Dry gas seals
- Conduct Alignments
- Work closely with all other trades to acquire the highest availability and reliability of our equipment
- Install, inspect and repair of mechanical and hydraulic components
- Preform predictive and preventive maintenance on, pumps, gearboxes, fin fans, loading arms, hydraulics, & compressors
- Perform predictive and preventive maintenance (Examples: Lubrication, greasing, & vibration collection)
- Calculate loads and determine the appropriate rigging equipment and techniques for each task
HSSE
- 100% compliance with company HSE policies and guidelines
- Champion HSE as a member of the LNG Maintenance Team
- Timely intervention to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and plant
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to influence overall safety behavior in the plant
- Understanding of standard hand signals and communication protocols used when working with cranes and other lifting equipment
Requirements
Required Experience:
- British Columbia Journeyman Millwright Certification or Red Seal Journeyman
- Preference will be given to candidates who hold a dual ticket (Millwright/Pipefitter or Millwright/Welder)
- 5-7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry such as LNG plants, Refining & Upgrading
- Turbo Machinery Experience would be an asset
- Level 1 or 2 Vibration certification would be an asset
- Knowledge of various rigging methods and techniques for lifting and moving heavy materials safely
- Ability to calculate loads and determine the appropriate rigging equipment and techniques for each task
- Experience with piping troubleshooting and resolving piping system leaks
Additional Requirements:
- Master certification in Rigging would be an asset
- Ability to Support planned, unplanned Maintenance
- Ability to support Turnarounds
- Ability to work weekend and extended hours as required
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment is an asset
- Communication/interpersonal skills – Ability to respectfully interact with coworkers through to management
- Accepts responsibility and demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of tasks
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and change priorities within tight time frames.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Energetic in pursuit of continuous improvement processes
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- The position is based on site in Squamish, BC (Project Site)
