The Role

Reporting to the Senior Product Specialist, the Junior Product Specialist will work across the True North portfolio of products and work closely with the subject matter experts.

They will aid in projects that provide the vital link between the global supply chain, sales, operations, marketing, and new product development groups.

The range of products are, but not limited to, Atlantic and Pacific Salmon, Atlantic and Patagonian Sea Scallops, Mediterranean Sea Bass, Warm Water shrimp and, South American Crab.

Location for the role in Saint John New Brunswick.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Act as the link between all functional areas of the supply chain, including processing, logistics, marketing, and selling.
  • Aid in the data gathering and for developing market segmentation strategies
  • Understanding and providing input to the forecasting process, manage inventory volumes
  • Coordinate with the other product specialists on raw material used in the speciality offerings.
  • Working closely with the production teams to understand the various harvest trends and needs of sales.
  • Participate in sales calls and customer presentations.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop educational content, sales tools, and customer presentations.
  • Aid in the preparation of analysis for the various product lines

This exciting role has been developed to ensure that we meet our customer’s needs and expectations while strengthening our position and volumes with customers across North America.

This role allows the successful candidate to view the entire landscape of the Cooke family of companies and provide meaningful input on decisions that will lead to the overall sales success

Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of experience working in a seafood company or an environment where you would have had broad exposure to seafood
  • Excellent Microsoft Office acumen (excel, word, power point), PowerBI,
  • Understanding of pivot tables, proforma financials, modeling scenarios, and Customer Relationship Management systems
  • Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player, the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and management
  • Global travel will be required
