Make an impact with our External Financial Advisor team as an Senior Accounting Technician, Indigenous Services. As a skilled and culturally sensitive accountant working closely with Indigenous communities, you will play a crucial role in providing financial guidance, support, and expertise to our Indigenous clients.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive accounting services, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, to Indigenous communities and organizations.
- Assist clients with compliance requirements, including tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting, while ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to understand their financial needs, goals, and challenges, and develop tailored financial solutions.
- Conduct financial assessments and identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and sustainability within client organizations.
- Offer financial literacy training and education to community members and leaders to enhance their financial management skills and knowledge.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and resource for all financial matters.
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with a focus on serving Indigenous communities or organizations.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and socioeconomic issues, with a commitment to cultural sensitivity and understanding.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
