Make an impact with our Indigenous Services External Financial Advisor team as an Senior Accounting Technician. As a skilled and culturally sensitive accountant working closely with Indigenous communities, you will play a crucial role in providing financial guidance, support, and expertise to our Indigenous clients.

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll services for MNP Indigenous clients.
- Take the lead in preparing and maintaining payroll and related government remittances / filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactions.
- Initiate client files and support the development of budgets and administrative planning.
- Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities and intercompany and point of sale (POS) / system uploads.
- Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with supervisor or engagement partner to develop resolutions.
- Communicate with government agencies regarding information requests, assessments and payment installments.
- Build collaborative relationships with clients and team members, supporting an environment of teamwork and open communication.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum two years of bookkeeping experience.
- Experience working with desktop or cloud based accounting packages, including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Xyntax, Adagio and / or other legacy desktop products.
- Experience with Indigenous communities or enterprises is preferred.
- Accounting certificate or a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting, finance or management information systems (MIS) major is considered an asset).
- Experience executing accounting system implementations; conversion experience moving from desktop-based products to cloud applications is preferred.
