We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering team located in Burnaby, BC, reporting to the senior manager of Engineering.

In this role, you will design leading-edge, market-disrupting cybersecurity solutions in our fast-paced, high-functioning global environment.

You will specifically develop systems to distribute and manage large volumes of data used by governments and multinational corporations to defend their networks against cyberattack.

You are the ideal candidate if you are passionate about writing high-quality code and value ongoing communication and socialization of discoveries in a tight-knit community of engineers.

You are a motivated self-starter who excels in dynamic, fast-paced, and team-oriented environments. What you’ll do :

  • Develop deep mastery of assigned projects and associated technologies
  • Lead complex software solutions design, development, and implementation, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability
  • Implement core components and optimize selected code sets for enhanced performance
  • Drive projects to completion, identify critical paths, and make sure teams are unblocked
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor team members to follow best practices in software development

What you’ll bring :

  • 12+ years of software development experience with programming languages such as Go Lang, Python, and Java
  • 3+ years of experience working in high-volume data applications and familiarity with data processing frameworks, such as kafka, Spark, Flink, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Any level of experience with MLOps is a plus
  • Experience in microservices architecture and REST
  • Ability to produce logically structured, accurate, and clearly written materials
  • Ability to communicate issues factually and openly
  • Desire to actively share knowledge and information with other employees to enhance team productivity
  • Bachelor’s of science in computer science or equivalent

  • Lead feature development
  • Start gaining domain expertise
  • Deliver a few complex features

After about a year, you will

  • Make significant contributions to our services
  • Make significant contributions to our design and processes
  • Start taking ownership of product features
  • Be a domain expert on the team

Please keep in mind that the range mentioned is the base salary range for the role. The typical base salary range for this position based in the province of British Columbia is $124,600 - $187,770 plus a corporate bonus.
