Job description

The Chief Sales Officer (CSO) is responsible for driving divisional,regional, and international marketing, as well as overseeing all functions ofmarketing operations.

The CSO achieves quarterly / annual sales goals, developingdistribution channels, and providing vision for all marketing strategies andtheir execution.

The CSO reports directly to the President & ChiefExecutive Officer, and the CSO’s primary responsibility is to generate revenueby increasing sales through successful marketing for the entire organization,using market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications,advertising and public relations.

The CSO is responsible for providingexecutive leadership and management of the Company’s marketing organization andin-bound and out-bound marketing activities worldwide, which include : corporatemarketing, partner / channel marketing, product marketing, product management.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Developing marketing strategies to increasebrand recognition and customer awareness of products or services
  • Creating sales forecasts based on currentmarket conditions and customer demand
  • Ensuring that the company has adequateinventory to meet customer demand
  • Developing training programs for sales staff toensure they are knowledgeable about new products and services
  • Providing leadership for the company’s salesdepartment by setting goals and creating plans to achieve them
  • Establishing pricing policies to ensure thatcustomers are getting fair value for their money
  • Negotiating contract terms with suppliers orother business partners to secure favorable arrangements for the company
  • Overseeing the implementation of new salesstrategies to improve results
  • Participating in community outreach activitiesto promote goodwill for the company and its products
  • Manages, oversees and supervise the sales andmarketing divisions, in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and theCaribbean.
  • Develop, administer and maintain acomprehensive marketing program and budget that ensures continued growth andindustry leadership.
  • Provide written and verbal reports on marketingactivities in all locations on an ongoing basis and other written reports asrequested from time to time.
  • Contains the costs of selling in order toachieve predetermined profit yields.
  • Ensures the organization’s message isdistributed across channels and to targeted audiences in order to meet salesobjectives.
  • Launches and manages new products, services,and associated brands to meet profitability goals through effective marketingprograms.
  • Establish, with the assistance of the CEO,certain performance goals such as sales, profit margins and expense ratios.
  • Implement strategic planning includingcorporate positioning market and competitive analysis, customer segmentselection and penetration plans, and related product positioning.
  • Drive the company’s efforts to position itselfas a visionary leader in its emerging marketing and to achieve its revenuegoals.
  • Communicate brand identity internally topertinent business units, key business partners and the customer base.
  • Conductsregular analysis on pricing effectiveness and recurring trends, creatingactionable item lists based on findings.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of marketing and salesexperience in comparable industries, with 7 years in a senior management andsales / marketing position.
  • University degree in Business Administration orrelated field.
  • Exceptional track record of developing andimplementing marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met orexceeded planned objectives, providing personal leadership through example.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleaguesand staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in choosing, deploying, and usingmarketing and sales SW applications.
  • Substantial experience working with businessand industry press.
  • Strong strategic planning and analysis skillsin sales, marketing, and business (competitive strategy).
  • Extremely effective public speaking skills andpresence.
  • Well-defined sense of diplomacy, includingsolid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
