Purpose :
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Vancouver office. The ideal candidate will have strong project management / project engineering experience in the oil & gas sector, on behalf of an engineering firm.
Responsibilities :
- Planning & prioritizing project tasks to support the project schedule.
- Identifying and managing project and contractual risks and opportunities.
- Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholders including global integrated delivery (GID) team.
- Reporting of cost, schedule, progress, and performance to senior management.
- Ensures design team is aware of and complies with customer Basis of Design and applicable codes and regulations.
- Preparing Project Execution Plan covering all aspects of the scope
- Review and analyze alternatives and options to deliver value through the project scope.
- Leading, coaching, and directing multi-disciplined engineering & support teams in all phases of project execution.
- Developing relationships with customers and vendors.
- Maintaining comprehensive project documents and reports.
- Championing safety, well-being, sustainability, and management of change processes
- Limited travel to site or other locations as required.
Technical and Industry Experience :
- Extensive experience, including relevant supervisory, project management and / or technical experience in Oil and Gas
- Comprehensive understanding of project execution, project management and project control methodologies.
- Full life cycle project management experience (FEED to Commissioning)
- Comprehensive understanding of the project life cycle for high-value gas processing and / or heavy oil projects.
- Previous EPC work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong people skills supported by effective decision making and influential negotiation skills.
Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training :
Required :
- University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, preferably in Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering degree.
- Eligibility for registration with EGBC as a Professional Engineer.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
- Extensive project management experience for oil & gas capital projects.
