Director of Projects and Site Operations - ICI - Ottawa Our client is seeking an experienced professional who will be responsible for management and oversight of their construction delivery team.
The Director of Projects and Site Operations will report directly into the President of the company and will lead, coach and mentor multiple project delivery teams.
This position will be responsible for ensuring staff achieves and exceeds KPI's and to develop a highly performing team.
Scope and Responsibilities
- Be responsible for portfolio level financial targets
- Be responsible for scheduled milestone delivery and progress tracking across project portfolio
- Ultimate responsibility for client relationship within the project portfolio
- Ultimate responsibility for consultant relationships across project portfolio
- Ultimate responsibility of Vendor relationships including : Contract management, Risk mitigation, conflict resolution, contract adherence, Subcontractor performance management, Vendor Satisfaction, H&S Compliance, Vendor Quality Control & defect resolution
- Ensure vendor schedule compliance
- Ensure effective contract management
- Build and develop an effective Project Delivery team across our portfolio
- Resource planning
- Attract and retain talent
- Develop and coach team members
- Performance Management
- Facilitate problem solving among the project team
- Enable staff to hit individual objectives (KPI's)
- Ensure individual objectives align with company goals

Director of Projects and Site Operations - ICI - Ottawa Key Skills & Experience
- Proven track record of managing a successful project delivery team with minimum 5 years of experience
- Strong financial management skills and the ability to teach others
- Ability to work well under stress and overcome challenges
- Ability to leverage existing relationships and build new ones with clients, vendors, employees
- Experience in the art of negotiation and various construction contracts (CCDC etc.)
- Possess leaderships skills that will motivate the project team to achieve success
- Ability to teach new employees and provide coaching
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to break down problems
- Possess strong relationships with other industry players (vendors, clients, etc)
- Experience and skills that allow the organisation to execute larger, more complex projects
- Ability to promote a strong H&S culture among direct reports
Director of Projects and Site Operations - ICI - Ottawa The organisation is a well established Ottawa based General Contractor with an excellent reputation in the area that specialise in both ICI new build and renovations.
A basic salary of up to $160,000 (dependent upon experience)
