Excel Personnel is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Accountant (CPA) to become an integral part of our client's finance and revenue processing team in Prince George, BC.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Preparing financial statements and analysis.
  • Handling month-end working papers and adjustments.
  • Preparing semi-monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Processing online banking transactions.
  • Reviewing subordinate's work and posting transactions.
  • Participating in invoicing, revenue processing, and revenue reviews.
  • Managing Accounting processes and systems.
  • Compiling and distributing a variety of monthly reporting packages.
  • Preparing Excise tax returns and compliance reporting as required.
  • Developing business processes and accounting policies to improve efficiency and maintain internal controls.
  • Assisting in setting priorities for the department.

Qualifications :

  • MUST have CPA designation.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Finance position.
  • Forestry industry experience is highly valued
  • A background in either AccPac +, Sage 50 / 300, Adagio, or similar is an asset
  • Being a self-starter with proven work experience in the accounting field.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Capable of performing a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Quick learner and comfortable mastering all required systems and programs.
  • Supervisory experience in a finance role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
  • Flexibility and comfort with non-routine assignments and tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with other departments.
  • Comfortable working with people at all levels in the company.

Compensation :

  • Competitive Salary : Negotiated based on experience, starting from $90,000 to $110,000 per annum
  • Hybrid / Remote flexibility to work from home 2 days a week with a Monday to Friday schedule with a 37.5 to 40-hour work week.
  • Enjoy 3 weeks of vacation in your first year, extended medical and dental benefits, and employer-paid pension and RRSP plans.
  • A standard 3-month probation period to ensure the right fit for you.

Additional Information : This position involves working with a variety of internal and external software programs, as well as the reconciliation and validation of revenue calculations against various tariffs.
