We are seeking a Senior General Accountant for a full-time, office-based role in Osoyoos, reporting to the Finance and Accounting Manager.
MATRIX is a national company providing camps, logistics, and aviation management services across Canada’s resource and service sectors. For more than 25 years, we have supported projects in some of the country’s most challenging regions, including Arctic operations, mining projects, and remote logistics corridors. Position Overview
The Senior General Accountant is responsible for day‑to‑day accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end support for a busy operational company. The work follows steady cycles with clear expectations and predictable hours, making it a strong fit for someone who values accuracy, consistency, and getting the job done well.
You will manage your own workload, work independently, and work within established processes while helping refine them as our systems and technology continue to evolve. The environment is fast paced and focused on execution, but the responsibilities remain stable, well defined, and suited to a long‑term individual‑contributor role.
This position is part of a small finance team within a collaborative office that supports a large field‑based workforce. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable support
- Invoicing and revenue tracking
- Preparation of month end closing entries and working papers
- GST and PST reporting and filings
- Credit card and supplier statement reconciliations
- Support for audit and period end requests
- Maintaining accurate and organized financial records
- Ad hoc accounting support as required
Key Competencies
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- High accuracy and attention to detail

- Comfortable in a fast paced, execution focused environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills

Requirements
Required
- Formal accounting education or experience commensurate
- 5+ years of progressive experience in general or senior accounting (7+ preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, analysis, and reconciliations
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
- Ability to work independently with recurring deadlines
Nice to Have
- CPA designation or partial CPA studies
- Experience with QuickBooks or NetSuite
- Experience in mining, logistics, aviation, or other operations heavy environments

- Salary: $70,000 to $85,000 depending on experience and education
