Toronto, ON M5A 2K8 This position is dependent upon approved funding from Canada Summer Jobs. Position Summary Reporting to the Manager, Comprehensive Intake and Care, the Intake Worker- Canada Summer Jobs is responsible for learning and assisting with overall tasks involved with intake process. The position also provides support in the transportation program. Duties and Responsibilities Receive and review referrals & requests. Assist the team in screening and assessing clients’ eligibility for services and programs. Provide information to clients, caregivers, community members and service providers. Projects as determined by supervisor or manager. Other duties as assigned. Canada Summer Jobs Requirements Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment. Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. Qualifications Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, post-secondary education in social worker or another related program. Knowledge and understanding of working with seniors and adults with a disability or illness. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to accept supervision and seek counsel. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and database management. Dependable, punctual and flexible. Second language an asset. Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer. Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency. Must have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
