The magic of this successful family-owned company is in its collaboration with customers, partners and a loyal network of builders and trades. Cresco is known for its relentless focus on quality and artistry in building homes and developing communities such as The Ravines of Bedford South and The Parks of West Bedford.

Whether building single-family homes, multi-unit residential or commercial properties, or working through master-planned developments, Cresco has a long-term perspective on land acquisition, partnerships, community building and the innovative use of design and building principles. Cresco is looking for a Accounting Manager to join their head office in Bedford, NS.

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for assisting with the accounting and reporting of multiple companies, day-to-day banking, financial analysis for stakeholders and government reporting and remittances.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Prepare various month-end and quarter-end reports for multiple companies.
  • Assist with building reports and preparation of internal reporting packages for management team and partners.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders for budget preparation and analysis.
  • Identify useful and relevant information, process it, analyze and organize it into various models in order to support senior management in decision making.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and cross billings.
  • Analytical review of income statement and balance sheets to ensure transaction posting accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide value added insight to financial information presented internally and externally to various stakeholders.
  • Testing and review of procedures to ensure effective internal processes, systems, and controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
  • Assist with preparation of year-end files for external accountants, and in responding to requests for additional information, as needed.
  • Review and assist with the timely completion of all government reporting and remittances, including Statistics Canada and CRA requests for additional information.
  • Support and work with the finance team with systems and process improvements throughout the organization.
  • Prepare annual commercial real estate rental calculations.

The ideal candidate will possess :

  • CPA designation (or enrolled in the program).
  • Previous experience in a high-volume or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines, while multi-tasking competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative, and an inquisitive mind.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Cresco prides itself on diversity and inclusion. Join a team that offers a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, health and dental benefits, RRSP matching, and sick / family days.

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with excellent time management and organizational skills. If you have the passion for learning new skills and forging new relationships, this may be a great opportunity for you!
