Job description
Responsibilities
Under direction, completes layout and production of proposal material with a contemporary style. Produces a complaint, professional proposal that meets all requirements.
With guidance, initiates proposal planning process, including review of client requirements, development of proposal responsibility matrix and content outline, creation of timeline / assignments and scheduling of pursuit kick-offs.
With guidance, conducts client background research. Encouraged to identify questions, concerns and potential risks to inform the ‘strategic vision’ and proposal planning stage of the process.
With guidance, maintains a proposal-tracking matrix.
Accurately proofs, edits and rewards text to deliver a complaint, error-free submission on time.
Identifies interview requirements.
Participates and seeks involvement in outside professional organizations that support the proposal position.
Qualifications
Postsecondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or equivalent.
Co-op / intern experience preferred in proposals or a related role (communications, marketing, visual communications).
Demonstrates project management, organizational and time management skills to effectively establish the priority and scheduling of work tasks.
Working knowledge of proposal fundamentals and best practices.
Ability to participate in a lean, quality pursuit process and strategy session.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work with a diverse group sensitively, tactfully and diplomatically.
Business acumen with an understanding of industry practices and new developments (construction process, delivery models, contract types).
Competent InDesign layout skills; competent functionality within Adobe Suite of programs (i.e., photoshoot, PPT, Illustrator, etc.)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other relevant marketing software systems.
